Studio

SIZMARI is a New York-based sculptural art studio producing handcrafted wall reliefs and architectural objects. Each piece is developed through a rigorous exploration of raw materials — fiber-reinforced plaster, specialized blends, and charred wood (Yakisugi) — with a focus on structural rhythm and the interplay of light and shadow.

The studio was founded by architect and sculptor Nugo Dvalishvili. With two decades of practice spanning residential, hospitality, and public architecture in Georgia — including the Varazi Beer House, awarded Best Public Building of 2016 — Nugo approaches every sculpture as an architectural intervention rather than a decorative object. Each work is conceived as part of a room's overall volume: its structure, proportion, and shadow.

This dual practice — building spaces and building for spaces — is what defines SIZMARI. All works are individually handcrafted in our Brooklyn studio. In addition to the curated collections, the studio develops bespoke sculptural solutions for high-end residential and commercial projects.
