Studio

SIZMARI is a New York-based sculptural art studio specializing in the development of handcrafted wall reliefs and architectural objects. The studio operates at the intersection of structural design and material honesty, producing pieces that serve as integral spatial elements within modern interiors.

Practice & Methodology

The studio’s work is characterized by a rigorous exploration of raw materials, including fiber-reinforced concrete, specialized plaster blends, and charred wood (Yakisugi). Each piece is developed with a focus on structural rhythm and the interplay between light and shadow. Our methodology emphasizes tactile depth and permanent form, moving beyond decorative art into the realm of architectural intervention.

Founder

The studio was established by architect and sculptor Nugo Dvalishvili to bridge the gap between structural engineering and interior art. Alongside his ongoing architectural practice, Nugo founded SIZMARI in Brooklyn to explore a more tactile, material-focused approach to spatial design.

With over a decade of experience, including leading an award-winning architectural firm in Georgia, Nugo continues to manage complex residential and commercial projects. This dual perspective ensures that every sculpture is not only a visual object but a balanced contribution to a room’s overall volume, informed by real-time architectural insights.

Production & Customization

All works are individually handcrafted in our Brooklyn studio. In addition to our curated collections, SIZMARI provides bespoke sculptural solutions tailored to the specific dimensions and material requirements of high-end residential and commercial projects.
